    • O.C.I.A. (The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)

The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process through which those experiencing a call
to membership in the Roman Catholic Church are gradually introduced into full membership.
This program is for those adults who have never been baptized, were baptized in another
Christian tradition, those who were baptized Roman Catholic, but did not receive the
sacraments of Holy Communion and/or Confirmation.

We are excited to welcome those looking to learn about the Roman
Catholic Church. The process is driven through a sharing of beliefs
and experiences between those looking to potentially join and the
OCIA team made up of Fr. Michael, Deacon Ray, and parish members
(who went through the OCIA themselves).
It has been our experience through the years, that in sharing this process with many people,
we have each learned more about our faith.

The Roman Catholic Church professes a deep and abiding respect for other Christian and
non-Christian traditions. Saint Luke Parish enjoys a warm ecumenical association with other
faith communities in Long Valley. Our welcome to persons interested in the Catholic Church
is intended in no way to be prejudicial to these communities or any other religious tradition
Anyone interested in knowing more about the Roman Catholic Church and its traditions,
       please contact Deacon Ray at:
